Bio
Name: Susan Constance Bones
Age: 19
Former House/Bloodline: Huffepuff/ Half-blood
Date/place of birth: 23 August, 1980/ Lincolnshire, England
Astrology: Hufflepuff Virgos are incredibly hard workers and bright, if quiet, students. They excel at any magical arts related to domestic life or healing. They must be watched carefully to ensure that they do not overstress their systems by performing too much work; these wizards have a very hard time learning the meaning of the word "no," and are thus easily taken advantage of for their work ethic. Let other people do the leading and the decision making; they are content to serve. And on their backs rests the industry of the world. Without people like them, civilization might grind to a halt, for who would take care of the practical details?
Physical features (height, colouring, fashion sense, etc): Susan has a slightly rounded face, large brown eyes and a small nose. Her hair is thick, straight and brown, and is often put back in a simple plait down her back when Susan doesn’t care to deal with it. In second year, she was the tallest girl in her class, but by now everyone’s caught up and she’s actually quite average-sized with a small waist and chest and somewhat wider hips. She has fair skin and pink cheeks that only redden further when she blushes- which is often. As for clothing, her style is very conservative. When she’s in robes, they are simple, modest and practical. When she wears muggle clothing, it’s usually Oxford blouses and slacks. If interrupted while working in her garden, she may be dressed more casually, in a worn t-shirt and denim jeans. She still wears her school shoes sometimes, because they’re so comfortable.
Hobbies/ What they do in their spare time: Susan likes watching old black and white movies, listening to the Wireless and going through the Day Organizer she got last Christmas. She meets with her friends for lunch regularly, and considers it a priority to stay up-to-date on each of their lives.
Wand: 11 inch Walnut, Unicorn hair core
Boggart: A Death Eater
Patronus(if applicable): A fawn.

Likes: Daisies, fairness, gardening, having her hair brushed, spaghetti.
Dislikes: Graveyards, cruelty, awkward pauses in conversation.
Personality in three words: Kind, grounded, optimistic
Where she is/where she wants to be: Susan is always where she wants to be. There’s isn’t any point in wishing otherwise, at least.

Father: Fredrick Bones (pureblood)
Mother: Anne Bones nee Callaway (muggle)
Siblings: None.
Friends: Hannah Abbott, Megan Jones, Justin Finch-Fletchy, Ernie Macmillan, Neville Longbottom, Ginny Weasley, anyone from the D.A. back in school, really.
Lover: None at the moment.
Sexual orientation/What attracts them?: Heterosexual/ Boys make Susan nervous. Not all the time, just when they show interest in her. In school she went on a few awkward dates to Hogsmeade and even had a peculiar sort of crush on her friend Justin for awhile, but was never bold enough to speak up. The type of boys that Susan has been attracted to in the past varies widely, but she usually finds herself drawn to those who are practical and common-sense, like herself. She admires bravery greatly, but values a kind heart over a brave one any day.
Children - have any? want any?: She doesn’t have any now, but she would love to have them someday. Family is very important to Susan.
Backstory/History - aka, where they have been between DH and Ascendant, and beyond: For as long as there have been wizards in England, the Bones family has been among them. However, to call the Bones family one of the oldest pureblood families would be an incorrect assumption- they have never held blood status in very high regard, and therefore their own blood is muddier than other families in their social position. Fredrick Bones was born into this family, the youngest son of Bertram and Tess Bones, along with his older brother and sister, Edgar and Amelia.

As a child, Susan didn’t fully grasp the tragic circumstances preceding her birth- the gruesome murder of her uncle, his wife and children, and her own grandparents- but she was told about the events at a very young age and as a result, she’s always understood the value of family, the dangers of war and the truth of her own mortality. She had always been particularly close with her Aunt Amelia, after whom she was named. Amelia didn't have any family of her own, so she had her own hand in raising Susan, coming over for supper at least twice a week, usually with a chocolate frog stored in her pocketbook for young Susan.

On her eleventh birthday, she received her letter from Hogwarts right on the dot. It wasn’t unexpected- she’d been showing signs of magic since she was a small child, to her father’s delight and her mother’s incessant worry. The Sorting Hat didn’t take long to sort her- not to Ravenclaw, where her father had been sorted during his stay at Hogwarts, but to Hufflepuff, her Aunt Amelia’s former house. She couldn’t have been prouder. Susan made fast friends of the girls in her dormitory and Hogwarts became like a second home.

When Cedric Diggory died in the Triwizard Tournament at the end of her fourth year, it was Hufflepuff that felt the loss the most acutely. Susan, who had been treated very kindly by the older Prefect, handled it shockingly well. Death happened, after all. The Bones family knew all too well. It was her first experience with real loss, permanent loss, but it did little to prepare her for the next year’s events. Early on in her fifth year, she joined Dumbledore’s Army, along with many of her friends. Cedric’s death was clear in her mind, and she’d always liked Harry. Signing her name on the slip of official parchment made her feel strong and brave; she knew she was doing the right thing. Three months later, right after the Winter hols, the Death Eater responsible for the deaths of her family members escaped from Azkaban. The summer before her sixth year, her aunt was murdered ‘nastily’. Susan struggled to go on as normal, brushing off the sympathies of her friends and classmates, but still, every so often, she would begin a letter "Dear Auntie," only to realize that she would never be able to send it. Susan found some measure of comfort as she dedicated herself to the D.A. with renewed fervor.

When the Battle at Hogwarts began, Susan was there, fighting alongside the other of-age members of the D.A. After watching Dolohov bring Colin Creevey down in front of the castle, Susan made the impetuous choice to run after him. The resulting short scuffle left her cursed badly, and if dear Professor Flitwick hadn’t rushed in, she might well have died. Afterwards, she was taken to St Mungo’s to be treated for severe internal injuries. She stayed at the hospital for about three weeks, and was well enough to return to Hogwarts come September to finish her NEWTs, with aspirations to become a Healer. She is currently just finishing up her first year of training.
How the war affected them: Besides putting her a year behind in her studies, the war has done little to diminish Susan’s general optimism. War has not hardened her in any visible way, shape or form. Physically, the effects of the war have stayed with Susan. She occasionally feels weak and can become out of breath quite easily, but would never tell anyone.
